New Club Spotlights Part III

Updated: May 23, 2022

AMA

The Awareness, Mindfulness, and Acceptance club wants to break the stigma around mental health and create a safe space for people to be vulnerable. The club meets on Tuesday at 2pm in the theater. During the meetings, members will get the chance to share about their lives and learn about both mental health resources and simple methods to unwind. The meetings will provide a place for people to do fun activities where they can relax and take a break from the stresses of their daily life.

The club will bring awareness to various mental illnesses and remind people that they are valued in our community. AMA wants to inspire people to prioritize self-care and check in on themselves and others. In the future, AMA plans on holding bake sales where the proceeds are donated to a mental facility or charity.

Although the club is a safe space where people can share what is going on in their lives, advice given during the meetings doesn’t come from licensed specialists nor does it provide a substitute for therapy. . However, if you are looking for real help, the club can provide you with options regarding who you can go to.
